Part of the vision of the Deer Run Block Party is for folks to work together to create an event that’s fun and meaningful for everyone. Instead of canned activities, we want to foster interactions that are vibrant, that connect us as humans, that inspire creativity and sense of whimsy. If you’d like to be part of that, we’d love to have you! Below is a list of activities that we would like to see happen. If you want to take charge of one or have some other idea, please fill out the form and let us know!

Volunteer Roles:
Maker Space: a table/area of recycled materials for people to create.
Children’s Music Station: Someone who can play kids’ songs and have a variety of musical things for people to experiment with.
Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe: Paint Xs and Os on miniature pumpkins (or just use orange mini pumpkins and white mini pumpkins) and create a Tic-Tac-Toe board for come-and-go play
Selfie Station: Create a fun space for folks to take their own selfies.
Compliment Distributor: Create a pouch full of compliments and a “Free Compliments” shirt and hand compliments out to attendees.
Community Art Project: A come-and-go station for all ages to contribute to an art piece.
Skate Park Ambassador: Someone who can pull in skaters, do demonstrations, etc.
Emcee: We could still use someone who could introduce acts and constests from the stage! If this is you, give us a shout!
Time Keepers: A couple of people who can be on-site during performances and contests to make sure we stay on track.
Info Booth: Be available to answer questions for guests, vendors, and musicians.
Hospitality Coordinator: make sure volunteers, performers, and sound crew get water/snacks, etc.
Vendor Liaison: Be available to direct vendors to their spots and show them where they can set up, access electricity, etc.
Vendor Floaters: Wander around throughout the day to see if vendors need anything.
Musician Liaison: Be available to receive musicians and show them where they will set up, what time they can set up, introduce them to the sound person, etc.
Social Media Runner: Posts live updates, photos, and schedule reminders during the event.
Sound Crew assistant: Perform tasks as requested by the sound engineer.
Safety Watch: Wander the festival to look out for any safety concerns and answer folks’ questions.
Set up crew: arrive in the morning to help with set up.
Tear down crew: Help return the park to it’s pre-festival state.
